Getting it together for my certification
Permalink

Okay,
So I'm working hard at getting what I need for certification.

I've read and continue to read as much as time allows every day.
I've put quite a bit of what I have learned into practice.
I personally have done 7 roofs myself and have 2 more scheduled this week.
The company has done 5 additional roofs using the new methods learned here.
(I switch off with another guy and play the role of ground man for training purposes.)
My rig is sufficient and running well thanks to Lori at PWP.
I've been as helpful as I can so far around the forums and met my quota.

This week I plan to make the final decision on the new name, logo, and signage for the roof cleaning business and create a separate DBA.
I also need a separate website and figure out the link juice.

Other than the "verbal test" is there anything else I need to do?

Here is the latest draft of logo and name, please critique!

Just wanted to wish you good luck with your certification. Seems like you got everything on lock so far. Your logo is simple but really grabs your attention. I really like the silhouette idea. Have you tried mixing different texts? Maybe using 2 or 3 different one's might make it pop out at you a little more?

Mathew, The Logo looks great. Maybe consider adding a few bullet statements to either side of the silhouette indicating that you don't use pressure washing methods (such as -No Pressure - Safe- No Damage- Etc....)

Yes i agree a couple bullets that say NO Pressure or soft washing would actually set that great sign off ... imho

Okay what about this one?

I'm thinking maybe large yard signs and maybe for the truck and trailer but I don't think they'll work there. I'll have to do something a little different.

I have to get the new name going soon. I want my signs, biz cards, and webiste before the meeting in July!

Congrats bro on becoming certified!  That is my goal this summer also.  I've actually been in business for a while now and have cleaned over 100 roofs easy and yet I'm still not certified!  I know the certification will give me more accreditation and customers will view me as more qualified and professional.

That wording just say "a custom crete and more company" so it really is there as a disclaimer. Our parent company has been around 30 years so no need to start over, we'll piggyback on current client lists.

Here's one to fit a 18" x 24" sign.  Like it?

Your welcome Matthew, your design is very impressive, I can tell you have a lot of advertising experience as so do I.

The simplicity of your design and the silhouette of the guy with the slope of the roof is very eye catching just like everyone has noticed.

After looking at your sign, it inspired me to tweak it a little to fit a yard sign and perhaps give you some more options to think about for other proportions, like for business cards and vehicle graphics.

My favorite font choices are on the design I made for you.

WE CLEAN DIRTY ROOFS, HAPPY HOMES, & 813-597-7175 is done in Tahoma Bold font

A Custom Crete & More Company is Zapf font.

House Washing & Roof Cleaning Specialists, RCIA Certified Licensed & Insured is Trajan Pro Bold

Here's another design, like this one better?
