I need help with a question. Not sure where to post this so i'll try here.
I've had 2 customers ask me if the chems I use to clean their roofs and pool cages would work on their boats. So' i'm asking you guys?
What do you think? A little watered down love on a fiberglass boat? These are not in the water they were stored and are nasty.

Sh dose not have to be "flooded" on to every thing to work, for boat just get a sponge and whipe on then wipe off and rinse. in my part of the world if you get chlorine or any chemical in the waterways you will have to sell your home and first born child to pay the fine
These are boats that have been in storage on a lot under trees for the winter and are grossly dirty. I was asked to pressure wash them and thought maybe some of the chems would make the job easier.

Absolutely.... chemicals will make it easier. Sometimes it is a trial and error process. bleach doesn't always work on everything. You may have to use some other chemicals to get it thoroughly clean. Do you have any pictures?

No Pressure Roof Cleaning Charleston - Mt. Pleasant SC Pressure Washing Charleston - Mt. Pleasant SC
I think this forum is really starting to get carried away with all the powerwashing and now we are washing boats here on this Roof Cleaning Forum. It's getting carried away.
I think all the information whether it be about roof cleaning or power washing is okay. If you look just about 75% of the companies on here do some sort of power washing/ soft washing. So again i dont see anything wrong with these types of questions.
Other roof cleaning site also talk about other things besides roof cleaning. Theres only so much to talk about roof cleaning IE-safety,equipment,spray the roof, see roof stains go by-by,protect the plants and grass, get paid.
We all offer other services and by doing so we are able to add income to our business.
That is the reason why i see nothing wrong with these types of questions.
There are only so many roofs to clean sometimes you have to expand if you want your profits and business to expand.
My two cents...

The words used. I really aint up where Chris is on this chit. This is a roof washing forum. Originally I think It was meant to stay that way to become the top roof washing forum. If you typed in roof washing you got the RCIA. Topics other than roof washing delutes the roof washing. The RCIA Deserves to be top. My 2 cents.
I dont know what to say, It is what it is. I appologize if i have to or not. My belief is the RCIA wants to "own" roof cleaning. Anyone think he shouldnt? So for now lets keep the chit about roofs. Want to learn more about wood or houses, flat work. Theres other BBS's. Need suggestions hit me up in PM.

I been noticing lately that alot of people are very slow right now cleaning roofs so I suppose thats why they are starting to post alot of questions about other types of cleaning?
Just to be devil's advocate..., what if they went over to one of the many other forums on power washing and began discussing their issues on that site, and also discussed roofs there too? And then since they were talking about roofs there, they didn't feel the need to post duplicate topics on this site. That results in the RCIA loosing posts, readers, and web-crawls.
Maybe we need to have an "everything else" section and move non-roof posts there, but still encourage postings. seems like the bigger we get, the more exposure we have, and the more consumers we come in contact with.
I can honestly say, its rare that I just do a roof, I usually wind up getting a house wash out of the deal too.
Just my $.02.... your results may vary......caveat emptor.

visit our website Soft Washing and Pressure Washing
We Wash roofs, houses, clean out gutters, scrub gutters, concrete, we clean and stain decks, and natural wood homes. Roof cleaning is only a part of what we do.
My favorites are roof cleaning and house washing and scrubbing gutters. The whole package.
We have to draw the line of what our coversations are on this forum or next we will be discussing;
roof and siding, and gutter installation, brick veneering, bla bla bla.
I know all the veterans here have always said stick to roof cleaning.
Chris the Owner of this site, he only cleans roofs.

'T MYou guys are making me laugh so hard on this one. Red you are the man, teach these boys how to clean a boat!! I have lived near boats all my life and we dunp bleach on them all the time.
So, gutterdogs is repeating what Chris has said, we are the #1 roof cleaning site because of it. People already do go to other forums and were talking about this stuff long before RCIA existed, can't really controll free speach ya know?? Now I do know of another roof forum, infact 3 of them and good luck as we not only rank the best, have the most members, and have the richest most succesfull roof cleaners in the world here, we also have the support of many trade organizations and the biggest power washing forum and the most succesfull of those people. So if people leave they are missing out on all that.
Finally, we do have a place to talk about other stuff, it is called In The Shade.
All this and we are not trying to sell stuff to you, pretty cool huh?? There are various threads on these topics, and it is ok to mention things other than roofs, but the web is an amazing tool, so use it. If anyone uses this as a one stop business resource you are missing out on a lot. Try web development forums, marketing forums, the sba website, the pwi website, chemical studies and patents on the US patent site.....etc. If someone is trying to lock you down to their info only, they are trying to scam you, we encourage rcia members to explore the web and learn wereever you can.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of non-pressure, safe cleaning methods Redfisherman. It IS appreciated. Luckily I saved the page before you got hounded.
