love on a deck?

okay here is a few pictures of a deck I am biding. my question is the deck looks like it was stained, but has some areas that look like the stain or paint is gone. can I use a diluted version of the love or do I dare say should I power wash it. confuse

Sodium hydroxide is best for wood. Sodium hypochlorite damages the wood. Come to Tampa and take the PWNA boot camp for wood restoration! And REpresent the RCIA like I'm gonna do!

Don't mess with decks unless you have a pressure washer + know what you are doing.

If you just want a light clean, you can however use diluted love and then wash it off. Don't let it dry. But I don't recommend it. That deck is pretty well maintained, aside from the bad stain job.

I would love to go to Florida and take the PWNA boot camp. I just don't have the finances at this time. I do have a power washer. I have done a few decks. they were painted though and I just used some light love. then power washed them off from a distance. didn't use much psi. well thanks for the input.

that deck needs to have a stain remover applied then power washed off. then you need to use a brightner to restore the natural look of the wood. then it needs to be stained or sealed using a quality product like woolmans or even a sherwin williams product.

This is a roof cleaning forum.  Lets not degrade it with non roof cleaning posts.  There are plenty of those forums out there.

Sodium percarbonate and a cup of potassium hydroxide in a 5 gallon bucket. My potassium is 45%. Might need more than a cup it all depends on the stain.

Bob wood restoration is completely different than roof cleaning. The only thing I would use my roof mix for would be to clean a solid stain deck, or a composition deck. Any thing more than that would be getting into using wood cleaners or strippers and using a low pressure cleaning system and applying wood preservatives.

If you aren't doing a lot of decks and don't want to buy a 50# bag of Sodium percarbonate. Wolman Deck Brightner is great. Just don't have your water to warm when you mix it in or it will foam up to much and waste a lot.

I agree with Miked. I have been doing decks for a long time. The stain needs to come off, if not you will have dark and light spots. That is a nice deck. The customers will not be happy with that. what I would use is Wolman Deck Strip.

Oh yah, I forgot to tell you. Use a power washer set your psi around 300 and use a # 40 tip. If you have not done decks before I would go to

www.wolman.com and get educated before you take on something that nice. Good Luck.
