Light Summer Showers

I haven't seen this topic addressed, so I thought I'd share. Reading the Tarping/Rinsing poll jogged my memory.

A light summer shower can be a booger I have found.  Not a good rinsing rain,  but a light shower that just barely wets a freshly sprayed roof and causes fresh SH mixture to drive off the eaves.  If this happens in your area, its a good idea to head back to that job site and re-rinse the plants, IMHO.

After a day of sitting in the sun, this isn't a concern as the SH is considerably weaker. I'm speaking of a same day event, like an AM roof wash, and a early afternoon light shower.

Here in N. FL, we  get those little showers all the time from May-September.

Any thoughts?

Good Idea. I think I read in one of Chris's postings (From Apple Roof Cleaning), that he has a contract that states the home owner agrees to rinse their roof for several days following a roof cleaning job. This may help cover your need to go back. But personally, I would probably go back regardless of this contract just to cover my butt.

Yep, one got me this week.

All the plants were fine the day of and the next day, come day 3 half had burnt leaves, the only thing I could think of was the 5 minute rain shower.

The homeowner wasn't too mad as the plants still were obviously alive, just brown in spots.

Matthew:
Thats EXACTLY what I'm talking about.  Just enough sprinkling to bring the SH down from the roof, but not enough to dilute it!

Let the customer make the call.  Tell them that you leave the chems on the roof to act as a deterrent.  If they want you to rinse it off that will void their warranty and cost extra.

Does anyone have a problem with the mixture killing plants around the down spot?  What is the best way to avoid this?
