Not sure if this is the right forum, sorry if it isn't.
I could use some advice. I have a house wash tomorrow and the entire back side soffit and gutters are covered in spider webs and egg sacks. Now I know from previous experience how not to do this.
Last time I tried pressure cleaning the stuff and just made a huge mess. I ended up taking them down with a putty knife.
These are not your average webs either. I tried brooming them down and it left sticky residue especially around the egg sacks.
Any suggestions?

XJet or downstream a good soapy mix of dawn, let it dwell for about 5 minutes. Hit is with another soapy mix and immediately use the XJet or DStream nozzle to spray them off. Works like a charm

Here is your answer right here. Only I don't use an x-jet. I've found that Amonx -Lo works just a great as the Dawn. Amonyx also leaves the windows looking great. No streaking and of film left on the windows afeter Pressure Washing. Use theis method to Pressure Wash and you won't have any problems.
Matthew, I see your a brother Floridian.....hot water is the key for spider webs. If this is not an option, follows the guys information above.
Are you using hot water on vinyl????? I dont know you at all (I am sure you know what you are doing) but I wouldnt tell people to use hot water on vinyl....most newbies can do some serious damage quick....

I use 8 oz. to a 5 gal for DS and direct application I would use probably 1/4 ot 1/2 of an oz. per gallon of mix ( so for a 50 gal mix I would probably use about 20 oz)

I didnt see anywhere in his comment that it was Vinyl....I assume the gutters and soffits were Aluminum, in the same you thought they were vinyl. I have ran into my share of Vinyl soffits tho. I have been doing this for a little over 25 years...but I can not dictate on how or what Newbies do with the information that they are given.
Cold water pressure washers can cause as much damage as Hot if in the hands anyone with no experience.
But....this is a roof cleaning forum, not a pressure washing forum.

It was a house wash with a lot of spider webs and egg sacks and algae. The discoloration on the facia was bad too, we have a coal plant like 5 miles away.
I was washing aluminum soffits, facia, and siding on the gables. The rest was concrete block.
I used about 5 gallons of SH into 25 gallons of water with 1 to 1/4 quarts of Ammonyx. First I knocked down the really bad stuff with a broom and then went to spraying. It cleaned so well I never even started the pressure washer. I did the whole thing with some mix and a garden hose. A few places needed a bit of coaxing but all in all it went well. The homeowner was so pleased with her perfectly white soffits that I got a $30.00 tip!
I didn't do the block because I up-sold them a house painting so I'll have to do a paint prep wash on Monday. Life was good today!
Thanks for all the replies even though I didn't get them all in time. I'll check into that F-13.
Here are some before and afters... I forgot to take them until after I had already broomed the whole things and started to wash the worst parts. The pictures don't look as bad as it did in real life.

My bad on the vinyl...I didnt even know they made aluminum soffits for home use...I have never seen them here....I was assuming you were telling him to use hot water on vinyl....I wasnt trying to call you out on using hot water on the vinyl, just that I thought you were telling a new guy to do it without warning him about warping the vinyl....

ok thanks jeremy. i have some that i use to clean gutters with, and knew that it might be useful to add some in my roof mix. but wasnt sure what it might help with and mixing ratio of course? another quick question jeremy. besides spiderwebs on what other circumstances do you use F-13 when cleaning roofs?
I use 8 oz. to a 5 gal for DS and direct application I would use probably 1/4 ot 1/2 of an oz. per gallon of mix ( so for a 50 gal mix I would probably use about 20 oz)

Wow! A roof cleaning forum discussing power washing techniques. Take it to another board. There are lots of them. I come to this site because it is strictly about roof cleaning and not power washing. I do not waste my time reading articles about power washing which I know like the back of my hand.

Actually this belongs to a no pressure washing forum using chemicals like roof cleaning. NO pressure washing was done and the original advice solicited was for soffits and facia which last I checked were part of the roof.

I dont do it as part of the roof, I upsell them a housewash if it needs it. You are wasting chems if you use a mix as strong as a roof wash for cleaning vinyl and also taking the risk of doing damage to the property with using such a stong mix....
