okay I have done about five roofs, now they all seem to have one issue and that issue is there seems to be a light brown stain on the roof. in certain areas. is this dead algae or do I need to treat roof again, we havn't had any rain yet. my mix is 15 gallons 12.5% sh, 2 cups ammonyx lo, 32 oz of iso, and 35 gallons watter. should I add 2lbs of tsp to mix? I will keep on x perimenting. any thoughts would help.
The light brown is the dead algae and dirt. Next rain should take care of it.If you rinse a roof with " well water " it will also leave a " coffee stain " also comes clean with rain. I don't use the TSP,when you are comfortable with your mix stick with it.
you just made my day. I wish it would rain hmmm never wanted it to do that hear on the washington coast it always rains. thanks for the info. I feel much better,

Most of our guys are back east Bulldog, they just don't understand the Northwest Algae/Moss I lived in Seattle for 15 years, and know what you are up against. Algae IS different in different parts of the country. We have Tomato's in Florida, they look like Tomato's, but taste nothing like a Tomato grown in other soils. same with the Algae, experiment my friend, SEE what cleans best, for YOU ? TSP is a powerful roof cleaner additive, and a 1/4 to a 1/2 cup per gallon added to that mix may work well for you ? TRY to mix up the TSP in HOT water first, then add ammonyx, then the chlorine, wait till right AT the job to dump in the IPA, and stir again. Then go clean the roof.
I will try the tsp in my mix tomorrow, I can't wait to c what they look like after a good rain. Kinda wierd it just hasn't rained here, in like two wks. I mean thats like a drout where I live. people are starting to panick. ( not really )

Also add a little more alcohol to your mix Bob. The extra alcohol will help the SH penetrate deeper into the shingles killing the mold, mildew, moss, and algae even further.
Chris posted the Apple Cider mix about two years ago based on a U.S. patent which recommends a ratio of 1 gallon of IPA in a 100 gallon mix.
This means for a 50 gallon mix use 64 ounces, so using one more quart than you did last time will make a difference.
