A wet roof is not to be feared, as long as it is not raining, just spray the roof, and watch it clean.
Thanks Chris….. I only have a few days a week that I can even work…
I do not want to miss any.
Thank You Again
Mike Mason
Not a problem Mike, I like to wet a shingle roof down first, especially on a really hot day. It saves your lungs for one, and the water seems to really activate the soaps we use, especially TSP and the Ammonyx LO.
Mike....I've found that DAMP roofs are ok to clean, dripping wet roofs are not OK to clean. I agree with Chris about wetting the roofs down, I do that in the summer time pretty often when its Scorching hot outside. It can actually help the sauce hold on the the roof longer rather than immediately evaporating.

Keep in mind that this does not always work too well on Tile Roof Cleanings. Those puppies can get real slippery.
Yea, I meant shingle only! Wet a Tile Roof, better know how to surf, Metal Roofs even worse! I was cleaning a 4/12 metal roof once, and my legs went right out from under me!
I have done some roofs in the past couple months where it was drizzling as I was about 1/2 way finished and I only had to touch up a few spots.
As long as it is not raining hard I will clean the roof.
If it was just raining I will try to let it dry out for a while then spray it, here it is getting hotter and hotter and it is not the hottest time of the year yet but the roofs dry quick in the sun.

Man we did 2 3k sqft shingles yesterday. I havent seen the whole roof white with foam in a long time. Those roofs were HOT. Summer snuck up on us quick.
I was getting sunburns on my sunburns working outside. hahahahaha
It looks like another hot year coming.

You are right Chris & Scott. It is going to be a very hot summer in Texas this year if last week was an indicator. Went from 61 deg to 90 deg in one day.
I cleaned the nastiest concrete tile roof last week that I have ever cleaned. SH was evaporating from the roof as soon as it was being applied. Had to apply two coats just to get it clean due to the rapid evaporation.
Good news and bad news... The black mold finally melted off but a yellow fungi appeared from underneath the black mold that I had not noticed before because the roof was so dirty and stayed... Had to high pressure the yellow fungi off in the more visible areas. It was slicker than you know what. The pigment of the tile was coming off before the algae was... Anyone got any better ideas on how to remove the round yellow algae spots.
Sounds good, but I put pure SH on it. Finished the roof and then went back to it. Tried high pressure which eventually took it off. It was all over the entire roof.

I've never done a tile roof in my life,...but I would be hit the yellow mold with some Sodium Hydroxide mixed at 1/2 cup per gallon. If the tile will handle it.
