Layout for trailer..Help Please
Permalink

I am getting my trailer ready for the season. I purchase my equiptment from Lori @PWP. 3/8 All Flow Pump, 125 gal H2o tank, hose real w/200ft 5/8 hose,Rigid Air Compressor and Devlan 5gal per min pump for chemical transfer. I am looking for the best layout for my 16 ft trailer. I added pressure treated plywood to decking of trailer to offer some protection. I would appreciate any help with the layout prior to attaching anything to trailer.

Thanks Lori I looked at this and didn't even want to start on it. That ply won't last more than a few weeks of heavy roof cleaning, and that side rail will probably go too. Your ladder rack will serve to hold signage and the sides will most likely be open, at least the curb side. Talk to Rex and he will definitely be able to help!! I know from good sources that man knows his Rigs! Good Call posting before you went any further Eric, I am sure talking to Rex and posting questions will save you tons of $$

My first suggestion is to Lay down some 4ftx8ft or larger heavy rubber mats on that plywood, glue em down with some buckets of pure silicone caulk then bolt them down with heavy washers and caulk those as well. Check your weight on on that and keep track of it, or lose the plywood and attach the mats to the wood underneath.

PS just noticed your side rails are removable so that is pretty cool as you can save the one you probably won't use.

With a trailer 2 times the size I'm putting together You should have no probs with limited space like I'm having! You may want to take down the lil fence you put up around the trailer. Thats just my rookie trailer building thoughts. I am building one as we speak too!

It's a lot more resistant than that wood, lol. It just helps it's not a cure all.

Sorry I didn't catch this post sooner.

Rubber will not hold up to SH as well as polyvinyl.

This would be a better choice if you want to redo your floor, with no seams.

Keep the majority of the trailer weight in front of the axle or it will fish tail as you tow it.

I would have just used the Herculiner and painted the boards and trailer a lot to help protect everything.

You don't want anything that spills to "pool" and sit there corroding and rotting out any metal or wood or rubber. With the regular boards what spills will fall through and the Herculiner holds up good or you can go with a better brand.

Why the wood rails??? If everything is secured properly then you don't have anything to worry about but if you keep them I would paint them because the wood looks kind of cheap and cheesy.

I would paint everything with the Herculiner or other brand of bedliner because the chlorine is very corrosive and remember it is also a gas, not just a liquid so the vapors can corrode also, not just the spilled liquid.

When you get the equipment mounted, I would put large eye bolts and cable/lock them onto the trailer as a deterrent to keep theifs from thinking about it too long.

Good Luck.
