I'm not sure about putting an algae infested shingle on their front porch. Sometimes I think to much though... Definitely a creative idea!

not sure how people would react to having a shingle left at door my neighbors get ticked with the phone books on the stairs a good way to get the word out is a letter to customers you worked for in the past other trades you mentioned roofing sideing ect explaining your expanding into roof cleaning do to overwhelming questions calls ect word of mouth will spread from there good luck

If someones going to throw marking away they are going to throw it away if its on paper or on a shingle, I think you have a better shot of something eye catching on a print ad then to whatever you can get on a shingle,....IMHO

I will try one out next roof we tear off and post some pics. May take awhile, but worth a try. It may be a demo printed backing from Kinko's until I can get a better one put together.

I like the idea! Maybe just not so big. It can be glued to a door hanger. Hang 'em on doors! "for a free demo of YOUR roof..."

I can cut them small like on shingle sample boards. I will start saving algae dirty shingles in different colors. Maybe package some up and sell them to you all. (kidding) Great Idea on putting them on the front of door hangers. It will also help keep the door hangers from blowing away!

I'm thinking about door hangers and how to be a little different. The problem with paper door hangers is this... people get them, might look at them, and then most likely throw them away.

I was thinking that if I take algae stained shingles (I reroof a lot of homes so I can get my hands on a bunch) and cut them down to say 8x8'' pieces and clean half of it, have some nicely worded text printed up and have it adhered to the back of the shingle I could put these out on front doors if their not home. Its different, it will make them read it and even think that maybe it blew off their roof so I will get them looking.

thats a unique Idea. I worrie alot so I would be concerned that someone would call me and tell me that the shingle scratched the paint in the door beings the shingle is so course?

I hear that one!
People in my area would probably try to tell me they got sick from the shingle I put on their door. It is the best door hanger out there though, proof!
