confuse It seems to be a bleach and I was wondering if it is used in the roof, driveway, sidewalk and non presure application cleaning business.

Some have used it and it does not work well. It requires the use of pressure to remove the stains. Do a search at the top and you will find threads about this.

Sodium per Carbonate can be applied in many types within this part, both outdoor and indoor: Flushing powders drain cleaners, dishwasher stain cleaners, hot tub/swimming pool tablets, and deck cleaners all contain Sodium per Carbonate. Moreover it’s also used for roofs cleaning.

Overseas, many Asians soak their clothes in it overnight.....it takes MUCH longer to work in cold water!!!!

As for roofs....just b/c you CAN use it, doesn't mean you should....

It's not as good a choice for that application...as won't clean / kill as well.

Additionally, no roof manufacturers recommends its use.

Sodium percarbonate is powdered Hydrogen peroxide, it is also used for as a chlorine dechlorinator (it removes chlorine from water) an interesting thing is that borax is hard to completely dissolve but if you mix some sodium percarbonate with it the borax completely dissolves instantly and you end up with sodium perbonate? i think it's perbonate? any way don't bother mixing it with Sodium hypochlorite because the hypochlorite will turn into oxygen bubbles and fizz away (makes a nice foam though)

Hydrogen peroxide is used in most automatic dish washing powders but needs an activator to release it's goodies (TAED, TEAD or some thing sounding like that) otherwise it needs to be above 60 deg to activate, it dose work if you have the time to wait 6 months for it to clean

OR use pressure to help it clean no
Pat took the words right out of my mouth, it is not as good as what the RCIA, ARCA, and ARMA suggest.

Thanks Gents, Near and far! Sounds like it is slow to clean chemical.  My research shows some people out there pushing Sodium percarbonate to clean roofs to the public.

Here is another question..

Has any body used or heard about oraganno oil as a moss or mildew inhibitor? Is there any requests for mildew or moss inhibitors or is it worth the appilcation and money to the customer? Does it just rain off? I did read that a good apple sauce or applecider  cleaning last two years in a humid zone.

Boric acid, or some thing containg copper

Chris whats your opinion on this?

I'm a believer in boric acid for mold killing and as a wood rot preservative and termite killer but have no idea how it would go on "shingles" we don't have shingle roofs so Idontknow!

My thought is to do the first clean with SH and later maintenance cleaning with Sodium Percabonate and leave it. Fast and easy.

I used sodium percarbonate on my first roof cleaning 2 yrs ago. Tried rinsing with a hose for awhile with no results. We then pulled ot the PW and blasted it. Never got paid for that job and never used the PW again!

Boric Acid or even Borax makes an excellent roof TREATMENT Chemical to KEEP roofs clean, after the cleaning, as part of a yearly maintenance plan.
