Thinking about pricing for spring. I think I am going to offer free gutter whitening with the purchase of a roof cleaning and house wash package. Or maybe just with a roof cleaning. Not sure. What do you guys offer?
Not a bad idea. I would offer it in the entire package not just a roof cleaning. Right now I am running a special with a % off if they buy now with a $50 deposit.

Pat what kind of special are you running with %off if they buy now with a $50 deposit. It's not that I don't care It's just that I don't understand.

Be carefull with the gutter brightening for free. That can result in alot labor and time.
I figured if they are going to get both a roof cleaning and a house wash, it would be worth the free gutter cleaning. Maybe just as a spring sale to get people motivated and get my business some forward motion.
But I could see it being a huge pita if the have gutters on all 4 sides of the house, dormers with gutters, gutters over their porch, two levels of gutters, all gutters 24ft up just out of reach of my pole brush, etc,etc

Brian if I can give you just one piece of good advise this will be it. Spring Time is Prime time, I wouldn't be giving your service away, and you need to be prepared to work allot of hours because after July 1st it all goes down hill from here,a t least The pressure washing does, hopefully roof cleaning will be a different story.
But I'm telling you spring time is prime time. that's when everyone will want everything cleaned, house, gutters, decks, concrete, and hopefully their roof.
Thanks for the input Clyde. As a new business owner I feel like I have to draw people in, but maybe thats not the case in this industry. At least in my area where there isnt much competition. Of course that could change by spring! Who knows how many guys are getting ready for spring like me?

I know their is not much competition, but the bad thing is nobody wants to clean anything around here either. They like the color green. LOL

I wouldn't do that. You won't get much of a response to make it worth it, and those that do take you up on it will just be the Pain In The Azz people that you'd rather not have to deal with anyway. Just stick to free estimates, maybe a free demo and a certain $ off coupon. That way you don't get 'stuck'.

Roof Washing Exterior House Cleaning Grand Rapids, MI
my package has always been pay for the roof and driveway and get a standard housewsh for free standand being soft wash only. but the can not get a discount on the roof or driveway whitch i have sligtly inflated this package keeps my average bill around $600-$700 depending on if they have a screen room whitch most do for a 2500sqft home usually a 3 hour job i just keep reminding them that if the spend another $150 for the driveway they get a $200 housewash for free and it helps keep there mind of the fact that my roof cleaning price is $100 more than the last quoat all they hear is free $200 in most cases

Instead of packaging everything together I simply offer a discount, 15-30%, on other services, but only if they buy a roof clean. Free is fictional to most people. They know that "free" means that you simply added the cost of what you said is free to the overall price.

Good point.

It never hurts to try something out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Some of the most successful things that you do will start from accident. You may find you don't get any more customers and your just working harder for nothing. Or it might take off. You have to go for it and find out. Watch out when using TSP, it could take the finish off certain gutters.
We do what we call the spring fever deal....10% off regular prices......I give that to salesman anyway and they are not working yet in the March. We do not push gutters anymore. To much uncertainty in how clean they will come or if the enamel is in tact.
Always

I understand gutters are a tricky item. Some places are charging $1 ft! What if they dont come out? Thats why I might put them in included with a house wash with a disclaimer, "May not come out perfect". That is how I have it on my website, but I just put it up and am unsure what route I want to take.
