Great news. Now there will be 847 Roof Cleaners and Pressure Washers within a 25mile radius of me. LOL...(Actually I'm not kidding) This area is saturated. I used to be able to close a deal on the first call. Now I have to wait until the customer gets their other 15 estimates before I get an answer and even then they want the job done for $200.00

Larry, Are you serious. Your area has that many Roof Cleaners. How do you get ant work? I believe I am one of the first in my area. Everyone in my area didn't even know the roofs could be cleaned.  I am concentrating on homes that are really bad, then I'll move on to the ones that just have a few streaks on them.  If my winter advertising goes well I should be super busy in the spring.

Dan, How long have you been in the business?  Is business good in your area?  Why not spend your winter building your customer base, Advertising and so forth.  I'm not sure but I would think it would be hard to go to an area that your name doesn't mean Jack and try to get work.  If you decide to do it, I wish you luck.  How many roofs do you do in one season in your area?  I know the seasons are short around my area also. LOL...I'm exaggerating a bit on the #'s but not by much. There are a lot. It's nothing to run into 3-4 guys during the course of the day who are out doing the same thing. It's almost as popular as Lawn Care down here. Much of my business is from repeats and referrals plus I network like crazy with a lot of different companies. Just throwing an add in the paper will leave you homeless. unless you don't mind working for peanuts and letting the customers dictate to you what they are willing to pay. This is something that I will not do.  You gotta work it or you will starve down here.

 

Pristine. if you  Go down to Florida make sure you stay there that means one less Roof cleaner in my area!! ha ha ha just kidding!! my respects for you.

Hey guys, been gone a long time. Woot, lots to talk about what a great season thanks to the RCIA founders!!!

Dan.. I would think maybe you should try and work for one of these guys with a long term roof cleaning business in Florida for Jan-Feb. I would gladly hire a fellow roof cleaner in need over an inexperienced helper. Especially since most of us are qualified to run a crew or a marketing team.
Perhaps you could ask one of these guys for a temporary salary for 2 months and you could market jobs under their name using your marketing techniques and both party's may learn a lot from one another!!

Just a thought, but it seems like it could be a fun 'out of the box' experience for all involved.

Perhaps a call to Apple or Terra-clean ??
