I was sitting here thinking if we could use an old piece of blue jean like a pocket and time how long it takes to go white first using household bleach then 12% SH. Then would we be able to get a guess of how strong the SH is? Or would it turn white in about the same time? I guess I'll try some tests to see.
I do the rub test also but I've had some SH in a jug to use for demo's that was a month old and it would still rub hot and turn my fingers white but when I put some on a shingle it didn't work as good as new SH.
I would imagine if you rub it between your fingers, everyone's reaction would be different since we all have different sweat with different salinity, uric acid and all that jazz.

When the SH arrives on the truck. It is usually 15% It sits in the store after that, and starts to go down in strength. average 12.5%. I dont know the time frame of how it goes down in strength. The finger test? I have some SH, 2 or 3 5'ers, still in the shed. Bought in Nov. Dec? The finger test on them and the new SH? Its not that much different? I remember when we first started washin this way my helper got some on his hand and ran to the hose bib! Too Funnny!!! Reminds me. Got some pics to put up!

I had a pair of old black jeans on yesterday and the front of them are all white specked so that would be a easy test but the test would ruin less clothes ha
