I use this one as part of my estimating process. Put an address in and use the birds eye feature.

Yes, Bing is pretty awesome! I've been able to estimate the size of the roof pretty accurately using the bird's eye view. Those are taken from a low flying plane I believe.

Thanks for posting that Bill. I was using Zillow.com for my estimates. Bing has a better resolution.

I just wish they would add the curb view or whatever it's called on Google. Pictures from a car driving by.

I do love the ones where the trees are still there and NO house. I did one a few weeks ago and the house next door was under construction. Well that house has been finished for at least 5 years by the looks of the siding and roof.

I just realized Zillow.com uses Bing Maps. It's just a smaller screen to view homes. Whats nice about Zillow.com you can get info about the house. Now, if would include roof area I'd be so happy.

Google Earth has a measuring feature on it that is VERY accurate. I have used it to measure base square footage and then gone to the house to find out that the measurements are right on.

The quality of these images are dependant on when they were taken. Somewhere at the bottom of the image on Google Earth you will see a year that the image was taken. If it is a recent image, you will be able to zoom in with excellent image quality. I know that the image of my house is almost 10 years old, so it all depends on the area.
