What are the various opinions about what to wear while applying the love? Does anyone use disposable tyvek suits? Rubber aprons and/or boots? Does OSHA have any rules about breathing apparatus? Are goggles good enough? Anyone using a face shield? Thanks

I were white painter pants. That way the bleach stains are not so noticeable. I always wear a respirator and I use a face shield when mixing, and goggles when spraying. Always were chem. resistant gloves.

I use the Tyvek coveralls, rubber gloves, respirator and face shield.  I don't think most guys wear the Tyveks but I like them.  Saves my clothes (and my skin in a few cases).

I just bought a pair of these Dickie pants, I'm actually very impressed with them; they are color stable from the chlorine and for the most part of they are even water proof.  I was just out side in the rain for about an hour winterizing my equipment...boo boo and my paints didnt hardly get wet.

I also wear the dickies pants, won't stain. White shirts. Rubber gloves, the love will make its way right threw regular gloves and your skin. A mold or abestos respirator, about $40 at Lowes, depending on how long I'm spraying. A face shield only if it's really windy. Always safety glasses or googles. Safety glasses that have the little shield on the sides, googles again if it's windy.

I like Tyvek Coveralls too. Good Call, Bill. Here are my reasons.

For Body Protection

Tyvek Type Coveralls work well in hot or cold weather

1. White so they reflect heat.  fleaxible, breathable Fabric retains warmth well in winter.

2. Repels water and roof chemical very well yet still BREATHES from the inside OUT.

3. Very Lightweight.

4. They don't stain easily.

5. If you buy them big, they are quite easy to get off.

6. They last quite a while if you are careful with them.

7. They stow away nicely when not in use.

6. Fairly inexpensive. $10-$20 for Large to X-Large

For Lungs: Niosh Respirators rated for Organic Inhalants i.e. chlorine from 3M, etc. are what I use for myself. Replaceable Canister type.

Face Shields from Harbor Frieght. Protective Eyeweare also, Good Deals there.

A tyvek suit is the way to go. Just put on the gear after you meet with the customer.  For some reason people get uneasy when talking to someone in a hazmat suit, resperator, rubber gloves, and rubber shoes? Is this a roof cleaning, or do I have Ebola Virus?

Lowes has them I believe.

I tried them out a few weeks ago and I liked it. Kept me from ruining another pair of pants. Ive also cleaned in my rubber over alls when its cool enough.

And I bought a pair of dickies khaki work pants and they beat everything ive seen. Ive had this pair for a month and theres only some minor spotting. They look good too.

Try and stay away from anything leather or fabric type materials. I personally like the  Muck Boots. They are rubber,  completely waterproof and SH proof. Comfortable also.

cougar paws are great shoes. Just not sure how SH friendly they are. What's nice is they come with the replaceable soles. Spending shoes, but great for walking steep roofs.

We are going with the tyvek coveralls and 3M respirators.

I will look into the face shields. Thanks for the brand & company.

If you're in a pinch and need to get up on a roof. I've found a good quality skate shoe works the best. Just remember not to spray yourself into a corner, cause then nothing will save ya from going for a slide...

Dickies are great for resisting the effects that bleach has on most clothing.  Just got to be careful on the windy days when your cloths getting bleach spots is not on the top of your list of worries.

If you guys need Tyvek Suits go to a paint store. or call Joe Lyons @ Parliment Paper Products and Janitorial supply at 267-684-6030. They ship everywhere and beat any price. I buy a ton of stuff from him like contractor bags, good masks, gloves etc. and they do office supplies too. Tell them Jerry Cronin sent you and they will give you the same pricing as me, I have referred other guys there, they do a great job.
