I have done some research and my findinig are that 12% S.H. undeluted does not freeze, even at temperatures at 10%, so my thinking is long as I am able to get water to rinse the vegetation I can work say at 35 degrees. What do you folks think?

Also forget to mention: in my finding the S.H. is still effective at 10 degrees. thats interesting because I know I heard alot of people thought it would'nt be.

That's good to know Clyde.  I have not tried cleaning roofs in 20 degree weather.

Your test proves it can be done.

Also adding isopropol alcohol is crucial for cleaning in freezing weather.

The alcohol will help prevent your mix from freezing.

12.5% bleach actually has a freezing point of -10 degrees F.

So as long as we mix it strong enough, use hot water, TSP, alcohol and dawn then I believe it would be possible to clean in below freezing weather.

 

I have done some research and this is what I have found. When you spray SH on a roof in the winter, it looks as though a giant dog came by and pissed all over the snow-covered roof.
Do people swim in the winter? Yes. They cut a hole through 2 feet of ice and jump in for 2 seconds to say they did it. What percentage of the population that is I don't know, but it ain't very damn many.
Just go out and sell, sell, sell and book them in the spring. Get some money down. Or get a job at Subway until it warms up again. Just don't put the SH from your freezer in your margarita mix lololololo.ololololo.

I don't think its funny. I'm just not sure your test is valid. I think to simulate accurate cleaning conditions, you should rip some shingles off the north side of your house and store them in your freezer for a few days. Then when you are ready crawl into the freezer with some love and a flashlight and close the door. Oops don't forget a box fan to simulate the windchill. This test I feel will not exclude your missing variable, which was a cold roof, not just cold SH. And bring the phone with you just in case a customer calls.

Good call on the Cold Windows Pat!!! Ever been around ma truck cleaning Depot?? Thats why they leave the trucks running with the heat on when they wash them in the winter.

I have heard about guys using hot water pressure washers to warm up the roof a bit, first.
Got to be careful not to get water TOO Hot !!!
