Could I get some comments on efficient mixing techniques? Do you guys pump SH from barrel to tank? Do you bucket? It seems the less you touch it the better, and I know it's heavy. Thoughts for a newbie? Thanks Gilbo
I actually have my system all tied together so just by switching of ball vales I can pump in or out of any of my 3 tanks. I also hae a 4 ft. rubber hose that ties in so I just get the rig close to the barrel, throw the hose over in to the SH and turn the pump on . I also have a bypass plumbed in so I don't even have to use the gun to spray it in I just flip the switch and stand back.

I have a old 5850 delavan pump with pvc piping and just put it into the 55 gallons drums and hook up the battery and just pump into my box truck roof washing tank, house washing tank and a clear 55 gallon drum for extra chemical. Usually I get 3 or 5 a week and just fill up the tanks as I need to.
Here is what the inside of my truck looks like, you can see the 55 gallons drum on the side but it is a blue one, but now clear.
I have not had the chance to have more than one to clean at a time. I have a 50gal. tank pre mix before going to job. I have the 55 gal. drum of SH beside my tank and just use a drum pump to refill the tank.
if you have Power point or Power point viewing you should be able to see the drawing. you can probably get more from it thatn pictures I have. Let me know if you need more.

Hi Chuck, Thanks a lot for showing us newbies how it's done! I like the rubber hose part especially, I think that's a great idea. Why do you have two separate pumps? Are they both wired to the same battery and you use one at a time, or do you have two 12V? Which model pumps do you use? Is this entire setup in a truck bed?
Here is how I get my Chems and here are pictures of my manifold for pulling out of my tanks to spray with. I also have a seperate air Flow system for Roof Cleaning.
I run two incase one of the pumps goes down I can finish the job, and yes they are hooked to the same battery. I have a box with two switches in it with a jumper wire on the positive.

Here is what I did with an old delavan 5850 pump I had in my warehouse, no hand cranking, or pump. Just hook a battery and hose at other end and let it do the work for me, just make sure you clean it out after pumping your chemicals. Here is a couple of pictures for you.

If anyone has an old pump that went out by the diaphragm ruptured, just get a diaphragm repair kit and then use that pump for only transferring SH before jobs, then once your transfer is complete, rinse your pumps thoroughly with clear water, not on the ground but in a bucket and send the SH back to your roof tank.
Yes I started using a shurflo pump a few years ago but now I just use what ever is old, that was a pump from the trailer rig that I run but now it has a fatboy in it and the air pump in the box truck.

James has a sweet, well organized rig! Great JOB!
Nice idea on using the 12V. Do you ever use the 12V to agitate the mix? Just wondering...
