I am working on starting a roof cleaning business with a couple partners.  I explained to them that I had someone willing to come train me and show me the ropes.  Then they came across this website called www.roofreviver.com.  They fill this is a better and cheaper way to go than mixing the chemicals like many of you have discussed.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should convince them that they are trying to follow the wrong path to success by using this chemical? Or, does anyone have any good feedback and recommend this chemical? I am skeptical and don't want to use something that I have not heard of before.  Suggestions?

I recommend you don't try to convince your partners or yourself.

Instead I recommend you buy some of their product.

Yep, You heard me right.

Go out and spend your hard earned money in this tough economy.

BUY their product and then go clean a ROOF REVIVER ROOF.

Do it their way, follow their suggestions. The proof is in the result.

You will then see first hand, WHY we say what we say here on the RCIA, and there will be your evidence.

You will learn first hand, that powerful web marketing does not mean you will receive a product that will fulfill your roof cleaning needs or expectations.

You will find that is why we do no advertising here on the RCIA for a "Roof Cleaning PRODUCT" to win new roof cleaners to our way of roof cleaning.

We don't need to, we are just happy to remain as underground and trade only as possible, so, just do what I suggest and then come back when you have had your first roof cleaning experience with roof reviver.

I used to try to convince you newbies on why this or that method is better, wiser, safer, less costly, etc. but now I have changed my tune.

Now, personally, I suggest you do your own testing.

Try other products out there.

Don't take our word for it. Instead, be the "doubting Thomas".

Prove what you need to prove for yourself and your "friends", I won't even try to bar the door. 

Not all the products out there live up to the hype made by a good group of well paid marketers.

Again, enough talk, pull out your credit cvard, order away and wait for the Roof cleaning kit to arrive at your doorstep and go clean a roof.

Post the fun you had cleaning with this, well advertised, supposed roof cleansing product and ANY, for that matter, ANY other product you are wanting to try out.

Please, I really, encourage you to POST and share the truthful results you discover.

This may help you as you should know what your competitor may be cleaning roofs with and why you are going to win in your market by using a REAL roof cleaning agent that you can make and mix yourself that does not rely on hype to tell the tale.

Take one look at all the MANY  "BEFORE and AFTER" pics posted using the PROVEN RCIA methods and then take into account labor, shipping and the many other factors involved with other inferior methods out there, that are well fueled by "HYPE" dollars.


Then, after your "RESEARCH" is complete using other products and methods, then give our recommendation of our RCIA Apple Sauce, Cider, Cider-Sauce methods a try and clean a roof or two or three the RCIA way.

You be the judge and jury on the method and the outcome?

Which one of these OTHER methods and products did you find worked best?

How did your Partners do in applying the competitors products cleaning their first TRIAL roof?

Reverse psychology gets 'em everytime! HA!

Feel free to test other products besides our mixes.

Another product you might try wasting your money on would be Spray and Forget.

Also known as Spray and Regret! LOL!

Products that contain Sodium Percarbonate, Sodium Hydroxide, or Sodium Metasilicate will all be a joke compared to what we use.

I remember spending tons of time and money trying all of the products I found on the internet. None of them really worked!

The one I thought would work better than all of the others was from a company called "Cleaner Today". They have a huge web site that is full of "important information" or should I say MIS-INFORMATION! I was convinced that they were going to be my chemical provider of choice! I received their product and immediately tried it out. Only to find out that it had the most irritating effect on my skin, the fumes were enough to make you pass out and it didn't clean the roof! When I read up more on the ingredients and found what Sodium Hydroxide does to people and roofs in the high concentration that I was using, I decided I would never try another sodium hydroxide product again!

After weeks and months of testing and researching products, I stumbled across the ARMA bulletin. They opened my eyes to the use of sodium hypochlorite, TSP and water. I tried this combination on a roof and the results were nothing short of amazing. I have been hooked ever since.

Unfortunately the RCIA was not up and running when I was testing products, but somehow I think you learn much better when you have failure and success doing your own testing!

While I am on the subject of RCIA, let me say THANKS to everyone here for giving their valuable time and information to all of our members. I know I appreciate it!

The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturing Association only recomends one method. The one we use here. I clean white roofs every day almost and they all come out like a dream come true. I used to PW roofs, I worked with roof reviver, the chemistry is all laid out here, in hard science. 3M did the research years ago, SH kills spores.

Best suggestion to you would be to do it on your own. Partnerships are tough and more often than not end up sour.

Mold is not what we are combating here, it is cyanobacteria. Please read some more, search for gloeocapsa magma in the forums search. 3m does not promote cleaning a roof, they promote a type of shingle that prevents the growth, but when they list the ways people clean roofs you will notice the only say the bleach solutions can kill plants, while regarding the other methods as dangerous to the roof. This shows that they are aware of it, and they claim to have 25 years of research invested in it.

Cyanobacteria produce airborne spores, and this is what I was speaking of in my earlier post.
