Here is last week in a nutshell. Week's going great, lots of work I should have known something was bound to go wrong. So I'm leaving for a roof job and the driveshaft on the truck snaps right in half. GREAT I use my buddy's truck to tow the truck and trailer home separately. I called my brother who works in a dealership and ask him to order me a driveshaft... just so happens it's on NATIONAL BACKORDER since February. Fantastic. I used the loaner truck to do a few jobs while I called around to salvage yards trying to find my shaft. No one has one.. Meanwhile the rearend on the loaner truck freezes up and my roof cleaning pump starts frying the relays. So I shift all my work around and start running around trying to find a truck. I FINALLY found a driveshaft at a salvage yard an hour away. I got that put in and continued my search for a heavier-duty truck for hauling the weight while I cautiously tow my trailer with the fixed Dodge just waiting for the Tranny to go. Anyway I now have a box truck pretty much all set up and ready to go but I still haven't solved my pump problem.
WOW! I had a Down Streamer poop out on me last Friday But I already replaced it. LOL... I hope your luck changes soon. Sounds like you've had enough bad for awile!!!
Well at least you got it all out of the way. They say things happen in 3's 2 trucks and your pump should take care of that.
Salvage yards are not what they used to be. I remember as a kid we used to go to the yard and pull whatever we needed. Now you have to have someone search through their inventory and you can forget about getting an alternator for $10 any more.
If the yokes are good still a drive shaft shop should be able to repair it for you.
Man, I do have to admire your persistance. I'm not sure how I would've handled all of that. Just goes to show that persistance pays off. I remember my father saying, God will never put a challenge before you that you cannot over come.
In all it sucks that it happened but it sounds like you didnt just up and quit. You rebounded pretty good and in my opinion you had a back up plan for worst case scenario. Frankie
