Holy Cow, Vinny!
That PICTURE and YOUR DESCRIPTION makes me do a check up from the neck up!
I am in our van a lot giving estimates and on the cell phone with an earpiece but sometimes I find myself trying to write a quick number down on the scratch pad.
You remind me that all it takes is a second of not being fully aware of your surroundings and location on the road and DISASTER can HAPPEN!
Thank You Jesus your son is alright.
I do not know how I would feel after any child of mine would ever have to go thru a crash like that but I would definitely be giving him a lot more hugs and appreciate the moments you have with him more now than ever.
Having anyone almost lose their life is bad enough but when its a child, even a grown one, its got to be emotional.
You never know when you can be here one minute and not, the next.
I was in the car with my mother back in 1972 when My father was killed in an accident similar to look of the this one. We had just got through with a great Disney world vacation in Orlando ., FL and then WHAMMOO! it ALL changed forever.
Count your blessings and his.
You know Vinny, when things like this happen, it is a time to reflect on WHAT matters MOST in life.
I wish you and your son a SPEEDY recovery!
May the travel angels continue to be with you and your son.

Thank GOD for the seatbelt habit. Not everyone has that. I am even guilty at times. Just goes to show you that forming habits as a youngster can be good. I don't think we ever wore seatbelts as kids. Of course the '56 Ford pickup had something to do with that also.
Grateful that a higher being is watching over all our kids as we cannot protect them from everything.
Thanks for the replies and Dave that was one day you will never forget sorry about your Dad. I,m glad everyone got the message about not paying attention including myself ! And Pat he learned the hard way 6yrs ago when he was in a bad accident and broke his back and he walks around with two 6" rods, 6 screws and 3 hooks in his spine, NO seat belt then
Wow, I am glad he is ok brother. I think I might leave that phone ring when I am riding down the road from now on. Thanks for sharing this shocking experience with us.

Everyone can uses a reminder now and then. This was a definite blessing that he wasn't hurt more. I saw a friend at an auction this weekend that has been doing woodworking for many years, and he had his thumb bandaged up. Said he turned his head for a split second while running a board through a table saw and ran his thumb through it. It is amazing how much can change in a split second. So glad this had a happy ending.
