I wanted to keep this for members only for a topic for training the new guys. This house was a freebie for training for me. I used 1 part shc 3 parts water 64 oz Isoprophyl Alcohol 24 oz Dawn
The pictures were taken right after the wash and no rinse since the rain was on its way in.
I know that it was light on the shc and dawn should have gone with 1 to 2 mix and 32 or more dawn. But even with the light mix the results were okay but not as good as I would like. I have the benefit of being able to do touchups since this is my neighbor across the street on my time which will be soon.
I used the mix on this kids slide since they are going to take it down now that the kids are grown I asked to clean it first. I know that the shingles are bad and I won't have cleaned it but since they were getting rid of it I used it for training for me.

Nice Roof Cleaning in St Louis you did ! Everything in your final roof mix is determined by the strength and freshness of your SH. It is no "Sin" to have to go back and touch up spots that did not clean on the roof. Better to touch up a spot or two then to make the roof cleaning chemical so strong it cleans perfectly everytime on the first pass. The weaker roof cleaning mixes are much easier on Plants

Thanks guys.
I am learning, thanks to everyone on this forum.
One day - you will look back at your roof cleaning training - and pass it on to somone else! WE suggest everyone to GET out and clean some roofs! You can NOT learn to clean roofs w/o spraying them. Even if you use WATER = practice practice practice. Pretty soon - roof cleaning will become second nature
Tonight picked up 2 roof cleaning jobs from that freebie. Sometimes its good to let people see you working. One guy was on the next street over said he was watching me work then later had to drive over to see the roof. Thats why he said he called because he saw me working.
I did a lot of free roofs starting out and actually got quite a bit of work from it later on so it was a great way to learn and generate a buzz about my service.

I think it was about 10 gals SHC 30 gals water turned out okay but should have used about 15 gals SHC. I had to go over 1 spot so not to bad.
I will be so glad when I finally get to post some before and after pictures. I have all the pieces now, just have to finish putting them together and try them out.

Thanks Kevin. I have competition right up the street from me. He's #1 in most St Louis searches but I'm #1 in most smaller town searches. I hadn't even heard of roof cleaning until I found this site. So I owe everything I know roof cleaning to the masters at this site.

Same here. It is kinda like all us beginners are kids and the masters here are our fathers giving us guidance. Can't thank everyone here enough for the willingness to share the knowledge they have accumulated over the years.

My opinion I like the idea with maybe going with a weaker roof mix and maybe having to go back and touch up a spot or too. Like that idea better than having to deal with dead plants around the homeowners yard.

I will also stay with a weaker mix when there are alot of plants around the home. My ground man stays busy watering and keeping an eye on me so I don't miss any spots.
O.K.! Here is my first post. To Mobile Pro Wash in St. Louis- I am about to "Start-Up" in St. joseph, Mo. I have located about six roofs that are in high traffic areas and I intend to approach the owners about a FREE wash. I will ask them for the return favor of allowing me to put up some advertising for my service on the property. Your success with free washes has inspired me. THANK YOU!
To you PRO.'s- I have purchased a cleaning solution from a chemical supply company and will give it a try but I like your concept better. Can anyone give me some details on a delivery system? Maybe some pictures? Thank you all so much for this resource. I hope to contribute soon. Patrick
Welcome Patrick, theres a ton of info here,so this is what the new guys need to do is read everything ,most of your questions will be answered by reading, about putting signs up find out what the town rules are about this, it may be illegal. what is the chemical you bought ?
