I bought my first drum of SHC today and it was $2.72 a gallon. It was from Univar in St. Louis. Another place wanted to charge me $3.40 a gallon. Thats a big difference with both from St Louis area.
Price of SH have been talked about on other threads, some have been quoted $1.00 less. The best thing to do is either buy in larger amounts[ 300 gal.] or show them some volume over time and get another quote.

Where exactly did you find it Kid ? I am having difficulty finding it in bulk at a decent price. No response from some contacts as of yet. Ever order from Sigma-Aldrich ? I see they are from your area.
I got kinda nailed at over $3 per gallon but they ship it for free (included in the price). Keeping my eyes open for a better deal ALWAYS FOR EVERYTHING of course.
new guys still price shopping, don't forget they sell 15 and 12.5% out here so look out for that cause you might be paying more for stronger mix. and the 12.5 will do you just fine. One more biggy get them to wave your drum deposits, those are rediculose. most places will wave them if you set up an account and fill out and agreement with them saying that you will be responsible if the drums don't come back. then you don't get charged until you actually leave the company hanging. so at 20 bucs or so for drum deposit that drops your per gallon price by like 36 cents.
I hear ya. I have two suppliers within 10 miles of my place. One has given me a price of $5.45/gal. if I buy it in 55 gallon drums. The other one I should have a price in a day or two. I am hoping they do better, I deal with them in my " day" job right now.
