I wanted to take you guys on a shopping trip with me. Whenever I shop, I have roof cleaning in mind. Lets explore what Wal mart and Lowes have to offer the roof cleaner, in a pinch ? First of all, there IS 10 percent SH for 2.96 a gallon. Handy, if ya need some on a weekend and are out Then, there are some plastic spray devices and angled wands. Then, there is the my shooting concotion using a 3/4 inch ball valve, and both a 1/4 and 3/8 hose barb. I am just gonna start posting pictures, ask any questions you like, and we will go from there. Lets play a game and see how much you guys know what this stuff is for ?

I looked at the soap dispenser as an Idea. The IDEA was, why not put some copper sulfate IN the dispenser to TREAT roofs with a freaking garden Hose ??

Those .97 cent nozzles are a personal fave of mine.
I WILL be posting the quick change/ball valve spraying combo we use. Now that I HAVE the parts numbers, LOL We do a lot of Non Pressure Roof Cleaning Tampa Nozzle performance is a must, and we find ANY kind of Metal Nozzle soon LOSES it's spray pattern. Brass roof cleaning nozzles enlarge, and a 3 gpm soon turns into a 5 gpm, or MORE.
I tried the copper sulfate idea a few years ago. Didn't work well for me, and I even thought I mixed it strong,....just to get results.. Maybe I didn't mix it strong enough though..., but it would be expensive to use at higher concentrations anyhow. I don't think it will give that instant gratification that SH does.
Has anyone else tried it with or without good luck?
Good thinkng! If you are ever in a pinch and they don't have it, Menards is also a good place to pick up a few things if your suppliers are closed for the weekend. That is if there are any located near you.

No because they are stainless steel quick disconnect NOT good IME with Chlorine. The Plastic ones we use NEVER freeze up! 1/4 turn and you can go from a 25 degree spray too a 0 degree shoot tip to shoot a roof while on it!

Hey Jeff! I think the CS would would best as a yearly maintenance application rather than for an initial cleaning. And for a low pitch roof could be easier than mixing a light solution of SH and water and pulling all your hoses out. You could fill the reservoir w/ CS hook it up to a garden hose and spray.
I believe thats what Chris was getting at. I could be wrong though....
