Transferring and storing SH - Also Prices Paid for SH.

Yes, you can use the FATBOY to transfer. Take your ball valve off to max out your flow.

Rinse your pump out with water afterwards.

You should have a 3-way poly ball valve installed on your intake so you can switch it back and forth from chemical to water.

You will need to use HOT water to bring your mix up to temperature this time of year, since your bleach will be cold.

12.5% bleach freezes at -11F, so you should be ok as long as you are using hot water to make your final mix.

My last bill for SH was the highest it's ever been $2.37/gallon

I used to pay $1.15/gallon last year. Hopefully it will go back down.

I will order the 3 way ball valve and extra hose so i can stretch a line out the back and into the sh barrel to fill, and a line from my 525 gallon water tank for flushing. When you flush lines do you flush right back into chemical tank?

What ball valve would you recommend?� Currently I am going with 1/2 goodyear pliovic lines from pressure tek.

Yes, flush it back into the chemical tank, turn the pump off, and use HOT water from your house to fill up the rest of the way.

The FATBOY is a HUGE pump. It needs HUGE everything for it to run at it's full potential.

I would recommend using 3/4" everything for the FATBOY.

3/4" valves, 3/4" chemical hose, 3/4" intake hose, 3/4" fittings.

Thick 10 gauge wire and a big battery, at least 770CCA/900CA

Make sure your nozzles are large enough.� #50 or #60 works best for the FATBOY.

You can also use (2) 3/4" PVC ball valves from Home Depot and plumb them together with a 3/4" PVC Y fitting.

Either way works.

Bob From pressure tek set me up 1/2" hose and fittings for the entire setup. I have a 600 cold cranking amp marine battery. I wired in a small 12v .25 amp fan in the box i put the pump in to help keep it cool.

Should I at least get a higher amp battery like 750 cca and larger nozzles? Im using basically the fatboy bandit setup as it is now . . .

At least upgrade your hose, fittings, nozzles. Try it and see before upgrading your battery.

It will allow you to reach roof tops that you could not reach without upgrading everything.

Thanks for all the help!

I guess I will have to ride it out with what I have since i just bought the hose (200'), and a aluminum/ titan reel- and you know goodyear pliovik, and reels� are not cheap.

Since this is just an add on to this years services, i wasnt planning on bidding any huge jobs (i also only have 100 gallon tank). Single story ranches etc. . .If one comes along, I may upgrade. I will see how far this setup shoots tomorrow!

On days I dont have roofs, I may use the setup washing houses instead of xjetting.

Some ideas for accessing hot water for those of you WITHOUT a HOT WATER Pressure Washer SKID to draw from, if you are a pressure washer and Non-Pressure Roof Cleaneerr.

If you have a shop or an area where you can wire in a separate water heater it can be very helpful in the winter months a 50-75 gallon tank will work well.

Another alternative... Tankless Water heaters are also a great alternative to provide HOT water to your mix, though they have a lower flow rate and take longer to fill your tank.

You can run PEX pipe which is easy to plumb and then have a spigot on the outside of your shop or home garage where you can attach to and fill from when the need arrises for heating up your LOVE mix.

Cost in Georgia for Sodium Hypochlorite:

$1.70 per gallon in 250 gallon Porta -A- Tote delivered Bi-weekly to monthly to my shop.

We cannot get any company to pull SH from their tanks directly into our trailers or trucks due to WET ROOM laws and containment issues with the EPA

Our best solution so far is the 250 gallon Port-a-Tote and bi-weekly or monthly delivery

No problems here getting fresh hot 12.5 sh. Pull up, dump and go. Oh yea! and pay... Hahaha!!! Almost forgot about that part.�It's the easiest way there is to get 12.5%�sh for all Roof Cleaning and Pressure Washing jobs. Our price has been $1.09 for awile now. I hope it stays there and doesn't go up. It was actually $.98 last year at this time.

That is unheard of up here in the DEEP SOUTH.

I used to live in South Florida and that was how the chlorine purchase was handled in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale as well.

I get my SHC from the sam company as Larry, but in Kissimmee. Price went up slightly the lst month or so to $1.20 per gallon. Us Florida guys are very fortunate.

Yes you guys in Florida are lucky! Cheapest price for SH up here is 3.63 gal. delivered right to town. Still searching but this price will do for now, just need to adjust estimates accordingly

Prices here in Memphis keep going up. In the Winter I store my SHC in an un heated storage space and hook up space heaters to keep the room above frezing... SHC best price in Memphis is $11.00 per 5 gal. I do not buy it in 55gal drums. I need to though.

SHC will not freeze. Not to my knowledge. Has about a 3 week good shelf life.
Just keep it warm enough not freeze...

If it is above 45 in Memphis I can clean a roof with my SHC. But I do not like to... 55 is bareable...
