For February it's great. Yesterday was 55 and sunny here. Today it was around 45 and very wet. Still very nice for February though. We're still not done with the freezing temps and snow,..but the break is nice!! I have a serious itch to get back to work!!
Sweeeeet job on that Tile Roof Cleaning Chris. Came out nice. Just curious. I've seen you and your guys do some amazing Roofs without using a lift bucket. Why the lift on that one? Was that a Slate Tile Roof?

This Tampa Palms Tile Roof was FILTHY Larry. It was 10/12 pitch on the sides, and slick as hell. WE COULD have cleaned the tile roof w/o a lift I suppose, but it would not be safe. Fortunately, the Tampa Palms Homeownre agreed. She was a very nice person who wanted her tile roof cleaned, but was concerned about the tile roof cleaners safety! And about the liability to her if someone slipped off the dirty tile roof.
Definetly better off being safe Chris. I know you wouldn't catch me walking around on that Tile Roof. LOL...
This Tile Roof was as black as the ace of spades. It had Black Algae almost two inches thick in some places. Most tile roofs in Tampa Palms are not as dirty. The Tampa Palms Homeowners Association took into consideration how steep this tile roof was, and how difficult to clean ? It is a flat concrete tile, and it looks like it now. It was JET black before.
Great job on the tile roof cleaning in Tampa chris. How long did that one take?
This Tile Roof Cleaning In Tampa Palms took about 6 hours to clean. We take our time on all tile roof cleanings. The articulating boom lift was acting up, moving real slow. It takes a LOT longer to clean a tile roof with a lift because you must move the lift around the house. Hoses must be moved, and yard objects must be dodged, or avoided. Sprinkler heads must also be considered when cleaning a Tile Roof in Tampa Palms. Anyone that can afford a Tile Roof in Tampa Palms can afford an elaborate sprinkler system as well. These sprinkler heads will break if run over by the roof cleaning lift.
Just curious, how many square feet of roof on that job?
This Tampa Palms Tile Roof is in the Reserve At Tampa Palms. This was a smaller home for the Reserve. It was only 4.800 sq ft It was a beautiful, one of a kind home, like all of the houses in the Reserve At Tampa Palms. The President of Tampa Electric also lives in this part of Tampa Palms, as do several other important people in Tampa. We do a LOT of Tile Roof Cleaning In Tampa Palms.

These are the typical roofs I want to target in Sydney Australia. They are terracotta tile roofs... I dont know what the gunk on them is.. maybe someone may know. What would you advise for cleaning these? It was overcast when I took them...

Nick, the "gunk" on them is called Algae or Mildew/Mold. It cleans by applying roof cleaning chemical with a dedicated roof cleaning pump. Suggest you do a search for Apple Cider Roof Cleaning Chemical here on the forum. We clean a LOT of tile roofs here in Tampa, no worries. Never been down under, but I am a Ham Radio Operato. I have talked to Australians in New South Wales, Perth, and Melbourne, and of course Sydney

Hi, Nick K,
Welcome to RCIA
Do a Google Search for this form of Algae, it is called Gloeocapsa Magma.
It is from the blue green algae strain, similar to sea algae, but it is airborne and it is everywhere, even Australia.a
There is TONS of info on this subject on the net but the most important cleaning and safe removal info can be found RIGHT HERE on the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America.

Chris and David, Thanks a heap. I am trying to source the ingredients for the Apple Cider/Sauce here in Oz... will take some time.. but i'll get it soon enough. The other bonus is..thanks to you guys.. and your help is much appreciated... I can tell my customers what it is i intend to clean..sounds better than calloing it "gunk".
Guys, Another question on roof tiles. There are a few companies here who completely renovate, including respraying with acrylic based paints of tile roofs. I am looking at subcontracting the cleaning from them. I am concerned that Apple Cider/Sauce may leave residue which is incompatible with their paint.

Not to worry Nick. Just rinse the Tile Roof real good before painting.
