Just finished a metal roof on a home that was heavily faded. It came out good but was a lot of hard work. I am working with a chemical company to develop a spray on and rinse off that will get rid of oxidation. Will keep you posted. RoofKleen Roy Lawson (931) 273-8113 Tennessee

Hi There, I'm from way down south in New Zealand. I'm interested in anything you come up with for removing oxidation on a building roof or walls as we have that problem alot in our country and as far as I know there is no-one who knows how to remove it (even the hard way). If you have any suggestions you are happy to share please throw them my way.
On metal roofs you must get on the roof. Put two people on the ridge with 16 to 18 foot adjustable extension handles and a large truck wash brush (Wooster) use truck wash supreme eacho chem or liminouise from envirospec and use a foamer so the chemical will stay on longer to do its job, otherwise it will roll off quickly. Brush from top to bottom and seal with Plexmaster (Envirospec). It should look good. I charge .20 to .25 cents per square foot. E-mail me if you need further info. Roy Lawson

Roy, I have noticed alot of metal roofs that are painted. Will the chemical that removes the oxidation slightly strip the paint as well? I'm interested to see what you come up with.
What about ripper from envirospec ?? When I called last year to ask them how it worked they told me it strips the oxidized part of the paint for cleaning gutters.
You need a ground man to keep the SHC from drying... I am not getting on a mettal roof. A 22 and or a 28 ladder will do IFFFF you have the right application SYSTEM...
Unless it is a three story monster then better go rent a man lift...
It is as slick as a babies butt as it is so why risk it. Be smarter thn the roof...LOL :)Â Don't kill the plants!!!!
Metal roofs are slicker than wood shaker roofs... YIKES
I have done 7 metal roofs and never had to get on the roof one time... It is all in the application... You do need to apply a light water rinse but really ...
 Yall work to hard... !Â
A good ground man to keep everything wet just a little and MAYYYYBE a light rinse...
Take it from an old country boy ... LOGIC IS THE KEY!!! Bring the roof to you.... LOGIC!!!
